Obama Said to Find Bankruptcy Likely for GM,... →
Thank you - finally. Capitalism still has a breath or two left in her it seems.
Of course, this means we flushed $17 billion of taxpayer money down the toilet delaying the inevitable over the past few months.
Still, better to say goodbye to that $17 billion and stop the bleeding, rather than continuing to pour money into the blackhole that is the Detroit auto industry.

I ate two street dogs with chili, cheese and slaw...
I only know this because I found the wrappers in my pockets, and there is chili, cheese and slaw on the shirt I was wearing.
I bet they were delicious.

Ferriss Method Fitness Experiment Update
It’s been 5 days since I started my fitness experiment. I’ve been running and lifting every day, and adhering fairly strictly to the diet guidelines I laid out. Lunches have been the hardest because grabbing a sandwich is so easy, but I’ve been avoiding the carbs by eating pulled chicken barbeque and beans. Dinners are pretty easy, and I’ve developed a number of different...
Detroit Sold For Scrap
bankergonebroke:
DETROIT—Detroit, a former industrial metropolis in southeastern Michigan with a population of just under 1 million, was sold at auction Tuesday to bulk scrap dealers and smelting foundries across the United States.
“This is what’s best for Detroit,” Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick said. “We must act now, while we can still get a little something for it.”
Once dismantled and...

We always hear about the show, even now,” Olde said. “It’s amazing how much affection viewers have for it.”
In focus groups, VH1 found that “BTM” is so deeply associated with the channel, some viewers assumed the series never left the air. The show’s storytelling model of the meteoric rise, tragic fall and sober rebirth of an artist was so distinctive that “The...

Two people at work just ordered Dell Mini 9’s (on sale today only for $199) after seeing mine. Those things are sweet!
I’m so tempted. So tempted. I’m worried I’ll get frustrated with the screen resolution, and am really eyeing a second generation Mini 10. But the $199 deal is making me very impatient.
Liberals and Tax Cheating →
Liberals do not consider cheating on taxes to be as morally problematic as conservatives do. This presents an obvious moral quandry [sic] of its own, as, putatively less surprisingly, liberals are more likely than conservatives are to favor greater amounts of taxation and wealth redistribution.
Interesting.
Hat tip to Dealbreaker.

Ferriss Method Fitness Experiment
As I mentioned earlier today, I’m going to try to execute a Tim Ferriss-esque fitness experiment over the next 30 days, which I’m constructing from a mix of his diet and workout plans.
Keys to the diet I’ll be implementing:
No “white” carbohydrates.
Eat the same few meals (high in protien, low calorie density) over and over again.
Make sure to eat enough...

How to Lose 20 lbs. of Fat in 30 Days… Without... →
By Tim Ferriss, author of “The 4 Hour Work Week”. 4 main principles:
Avoid “white” carbohydrates.
Eat the same few meals over and over again.
Don’t drink calories.
Take one day off per week.
Hit the article for more. Good stuff - I think I’m going to try it, but maintain my normal cardio/lifting routine.
I’ll be blogging about my progress,...
Above is Rep. Chuck Rangel (D) speaking about the bill he introduced to retroactively tax bonuses at 90%, despite seemingly valid accusations he illegally avoided taxes himself.
Notice that at the beginning he claims to have not been able to hear a question he has no answer for, but has no difficulty hearing anything for the remainder of the interview.
It is absolutely ridiculous that a man like...

Tucker Carlson: How Jon Stewart Went Bad →
muppetpants:
They’re both giant douchebags, but it’s really a tough read because Tucker is even more petty than Stewart. I had a tough time reading it and I loathe Stewart and what the Daily Show has evolved into, so apologists beware.
Like most sermons, Stewart’s showdown with Jim Cramer ended with a neat moral lesson. Once journalists who cover business regain their sense of responsibility...

Stop Blaming Cramer For Being Cramer →
Jim Cramer had no influence over the twin manias that afflicted America in the last ten years: the madness of homebuyers for ever more expensive houses, and the madness of bankers for buying bonds based on those homes. Jim Cramer did not persuade the Asian savers to pour moronic amounts of capital into oversaturated American markets. He did not talk up MBS or CDOs to any level that could be...

Been missing the MMO’s lately, and since my friend moved to Iowa we haven’t had a steady online game to keep each other company in. So it looks like the lands of Azeroth are going to see me again.
Don’t do it - be strong! That game is like crack. I kicked it right before the first expansion came out a few years ago, but keep being tempted to reinstall it every few...

While catching a few z’s on my train ride home from the school (downtown manhattan) I over hear a group of highschool kids discussing the difference between a woman shopping and a man shopping.
