iGala Wi-Fi Linux Based Photo Frame (via ThinkGeek)
iGala is a photo frame with a difference. It has a touch screen built in so you can configure the device. Also, via it’s wifi connection and the touch screen you could login and check your Gmail, it can download and display photos from Flickr, you can read news feeds etc, seems you can even use it as a calculator.
Awesome. If this thing works as advertised, I’m buying one for my grandmother. I’ve been wanting to get her one so we can send her pictures of all her grandkids, but all the other frames I’ve tried have either been buggy (eStarling), ugly, or not WiFi-enabled. The touchscreen could be the killer app here.
Not really sure why it’s taken 3+ years to perfect the “wireless digital photo frame” concept - it seems like it should be pretty straightforward…
