This is the first trailer for “The Fifth Quarter”, a feature film based on the life of Wake Forest football player John Abbate (in my class at WFU, recently drafted by the Houston Texans).
The film focuses first on the death of his younger brother Luke in a tragic car accident, and follows Abbate’s football career as he uses Luke’s death as inspiration to carry himself, his family and his team onward.
The plot holds very closely to actual events, and in fact stars many Wake Forest football players, coach Jim Grobe, and even some of my friends from school.
