You Never Give Me Your Money

jeffmiller:

The rich are only rich because they sell people things that people value more than money.  If you’re so upset that the rich have so much money, stop giving them your money.  Just stop trading with them.  Instead, buy things from poor people.  Right now, you’re enabling all these rich people.  Don’t be an enabler.  If we all band together, we can teach these rich people to stop making the products we want, to discontinue their practices of invention and innovation, to abandon all efforts at bettering our lives.  How dare they give us things we want in exchange for our hard earned money.  The nerve.

And while we’re at it, can’t we all agree to stop working for these rich people.  Seriously, there are homeless men and women on the street, and I think it’s time we looked to them for a job.  Why work for someone who already has a lot of money when you can work for someone who has none?

I’m sick of all these rich people hoarding their money, just piling it away, in bank loans and construction projects and research and development.  Seriously, is there anything worse than a rich guy earning a ton of money and then investing it in things that create jobs and companies and products?  Oh, sure, all these things sound good … but you know they are only going to make even more money for the rich person, and that’s only going to create even more jobs and companies and products.  Where will it end?—it’s a kind of despicable escalating cycle of continual societal betterment.

Well put.
