Those who support Obama say that we already “spread the wealth around,” so his policies are no big departure. But isn’t there a big difference between providing a safety net for the poor, the young, the mentally ill, the elderly, and the disabled—and shifting the cost of Government solely to half of the population? Aren’t we really entering a completely new era of American economic policy?
