Why McCain Won Article

dearworld:

This article pretty much is saying that if Obama loses next Tuesday, it is because Americans are racist.  It goes through, state by state, and explains what a McCain victory could be attributed to.  Not every reason is because of racism, but that is the overwhelming idea.

I’m just curious- do people agree?  If McCain wins on election day, is it because too many Americans are still blinded by race?

Disagree. I think there are plenty of reasons to vote for either candidate on their own merits and views. They are both quite different on a variety of issues, and not even necissarily split along party lines. The trouble is, we can only have one president, so if you agree with Obama (or McCain) on 51% of issues, that’s your vote. Doesn’t mean you don’t agree with 49% of what the other candidate thinks, or even that you support the other 50% of your own candidate’s issues. But in the end, you have to vote for someone.

I wish Americans wouldn’t be so quick to pidgeonhole a person based on their vote. (ie. if you vote for McCain, you’re racist - or, if you vote for Obama, you’re a socialist, etc)
