i kinda liked Bush

drned:

did anyone else ever see Journeys With George? it was shot on the 2000 campaign trail. it shows him as a bumbling yet very charismatic normal guy.

and thats how i’m gonna remember him. i’m 8000% sure he was a figurehead for Cheney/Rove. Bush got the short end of the deal. he was a pretty down to earth Southern dude who, as i’m sure we all would, when someone at some point in some room with no windows said “hey you wanna be president?”, was like “fuck yeah im down!”. because you would too.

remember that one time he left a press conference and tried to open a door than wouldn’t open? totally human. not stupid. that would be a human error, and we’re giving him too much shit for just one man to take.

he was a very human guy. for all his flaws, he acted like a real human being. even in his shittiest moments (and there were many, but): you can’t say you wouldn’t have acted the same way under those circumstances. 9/11? you’d finish reading the fucking book to those kids. what human being wouldn’t? would you want to scare those kids? right then? dude, i would’ve done the same thing. there were cameras. yeah, i know it was serious, but fuck it, those kids are hanging on your every word and if you go “I GOTTA GO SOMEONES BOMBING US” and you’re the president you’d fuck up those kids heads forever. finish the fucking book. that was honestly - i think - a good decision on his part. why? because Bush was a born performer. i can see it in his eyes… he just got handed the shittiest role imaginable: The Shitty President. you got a shitty monologue? finish the fucking task at hand. ask any performer that has performed infront of a bunch of children. right then: at that moment: that IS the world. you don’t want to make them fucking cry. and for that i respect him.

i mean, yeah, theres other moments. shitty ones, like Katrina. but those were lines fed to him offstage by fucking Rove and Bush. do a fucking wikipedia search on those two and tell me they’re NOT the masterminds behind the last hideous 8 years.

and i cant really say i feel for Obama, honestly. i think Obama takes himself a bit too seriously (and thats coming from ME). i kinda wish he’d stop being Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact and stop posing in sunglasses or some shit. i’m just saying. he’s awesome, don’t get me wrong, but the one thing Bush had going for him was charm, and while Obama is a very charismatic person, he ain’t no Charlie Brown president like Bush was.

i’ll say it again: Bush was a born performer. he got handed the shittiest role imaginable: The Shitty President, and to be totally, totally honest, it wasn’t all his fault, and he deserves a better send-off than the sentiment everyone seems to be giving him.

just sayin’.

Not sure I agree with the Rove/Cheney part, but I certainly feel for the guy. He certainly got the shortest end of the shortest stick, prehaps in presidential history - it’s a shame the way he has been treated.
