so i’m leaving for london tomorrow night

scout:

i’ll be there for a week, and i’ve never been before. where should i go, tumblr? what should i do? where should i eat? what should i see?
  1. Take the Red Bus tour of the city. It’s classically tourist, but it’s interesting, entertaining, and will allow you to get an idea of the city geographically so you will know which areas you want to checkout further.
  2. Ride the Tube (don’t call it the Subway).
  3. Have dinner and drinks at the Jugged Hare pub (between Pimlico and Victoria tube stops, Google it). Order the meat plate. It’s unique, not what your palate is used to, but it’s great.
  4. Catch a play in the theatre district. You can pickup cheap tickets the day of at the TKTS booth in Leicester Square.
  5. You must go spend an afternoon in Covent Garden - it’s full of great shops, street performers and cart vendors. Don’t miss it.
  6. Visit the Tower of London. Yes, it’s touristy, but you’ll see the Crown Jewels, and the Yeoman Warders will give you a great (and humorous) tour and history lesson.

I’ve got more if you want, but that ought to get you started.
